I just read on Bassmaster website, the announcement of the new Elite Marshall program. These are the guys that will replace the co-anglers during the Elite series tournament. I know I know, we ALL feel slighted and are threatening to never re-new our BASS membership and that’s OK. There is no one holding your feet to the fire about renewal. Great thing is...it’s all about choice.

The fee for registering for the Elite Marshall program is only $100 a tournament. Pretty much guaranteed 2-days on the water and possibly 3 if you get selected. Same as before, different Pro each day, but you get to learn about a couple of new items on the boat. A little camera system you may need to adjust for ESPN and a cell-phone tracking system thingy...not sure what or how it is supposed to fit in, just another little something. OH, and you get a fancy jersey and cap with the Elite Marshall stuff on it, entry to all the gatherings that the pros go to during the tournament.

So for you out there, that might keep your BASS membership and still follow the Pros along the tournament trail, love the sport and want to learn from the best on the water...you still have an opportunity. Life throws us curve balls, take a swing at it...your late swing while dropping your back shoulder just may let you connect with the ball and put it in play. I bet most of you while growing up had dreams of being a big league baseball, football, or even basketball player… how’s that working out for you? Pro fishing is pretty tough and even fewer of those in the ranks of professional angling.

Let me hear back from you guys....

I was wondering if you liked Basspro or Cabela’s better. Personally I like Basspro better. I think that they have way better fishing equipment. With hunting I think that it was really close with Cabela’s but I still think they are better even for hunting. Also my experience with Cabela’s customer service was not that great, and that was actually what turned me on them.

Im kind of new to fishing in the winter time!! Most of the people I know that fish with me say Im crazy, being from south FLA I never had a real problem
with winter fishing. I went out today (in west TN) and it was 39 degrees at the lake with a little wind.. I didnt catch a thing but it was great to get out on the water!!
Im learning every day about this cold weather and how it affects the bass fishing game.. The one thing I do know is that it can be real tuff sometimes!!
Any die hards out there with info or is it that BAD..

This is probably a touchy subject when it comes to Bass Pros. I read in Ikes book that many Pro anglers use other lures besides their sponsors. If they do good on a particular lake, they say they used their sponsors lures when in reality they didn’t. They might have said they caught it on a Series 6 Sexy shad crank, but really caught it on a Bomber Crank. Do you think this is true? I would think pros carry other lures in their boat besides their sponsor’s. I thought this was an interesting subject.
