Do you see a future with college bass fishing? I have organized a team at the University of North Alabama and we worked the PAA corporate cup at Pickwick last year to try and help and to get our name out there. I would really like to see it continue to grow.

Since your a big fan of this color, what do you think about approaching Strike King with something in this color for a Red Eye Shad, something translucent, like the Mojarra Perhaps.

high school bass angling

Hey Kevin,

My name is Mark Feldman; I’m from Illinois and am a junior at Stevenson High School. I don’t know if you have heard, but this year the IHSA (Illinois high school association) has officially entered bass fishing as a sport. There are only six students allowed to fish in each tournament and there are about twenty to twenty-five kids on the team. So here is my question, besides showing up to all of the practices, what are some sure proven tournament techniques that my teammates and I can use to beat the other schools earn and keep a spot on the tournament roster?

P.S. I think it would be great for both the Strike Kings organization and IHSA, if Strike Kings or even you could do something to help kids get involved, and help out in the progression of this wonderful sport i.e. Sponsorships, promotions, gear donations, or even scholarship programs (we are the future of the sport ) I hate to bother you like this, but anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.

I have been following your progress for the past two years and have noticed the Burning of crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Just recently I noticed the new Series of worms and other soft plastics. How often do you use the soft plastics? Are these lures that you use when the Burn bite is off. Or when you pull up to fish shallow?
