2013 KVD Big Bass Classic - Payouts Increased!

We’ve increased the payouts this year for the Oakley Big Bass Tour event on Table Rock Lake! This years weigh in will be held at Bass Pro Shops new marina facility at Long Creek Marina.

This should help anglers get to the weigh in and back to the water quicker. There are also launch facilities at Long Creek if anglers prefer to use them.

Event date: May 18th/19th

The grand prize will be a 2013 Nitro Z8 valued over $35,000 for the overall big bass of the tournament.

Hourly Payouts based on 400 anglers.

1st $1000
2nd $500
3rd $400
4th $200
5th $150

The first 100 anglers to register early online for a two day entry will receive a custom Oakley/Quantum rod valued at $150! Online registration is now open. Anglers may also register in person at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield on Friday May 17th from 12-7pm.

KVD proves it again

I’m at work in Columbia and I got to talked to my wife yesterday and she told me a great story about KVD.

My wife’s brother lives in Decatur, AL. Him and his wife were at a restaurant with some friends and seen KVD and some of his friends having lunch. They really didn’t know who he was so they texted their son (one of the nephews that I take fishing frequently) and asked him if he knew who KVD was. Of course he did and in no short terms basically told them that he was the greatest professional angler of all time.

They felt uncertain about doing it, but they went up to his table and asked if he would autograph some lures for them. That’s when it happened. They said his response just blew them away. My wife told me that they said that they felt as if he was there just for them. They said he was the most kind and gracious person they had ever met.

Even though I have met him and witnessed his personality first hand, it continues to amaze me of just how humble and gracious he is. He is truly an amazing person and an example of how all professional athletes should be .

Hi Kevin, my friends say I’m nuts but when ever I fish I pretend I’m in a tournament. My wife gets mad at me because I barely take time to drink , forget about eating, unless i can shove something in my mouth and keep casting I wasn’t eating. I don’t have a seat at the front of my boat so I stand and cast all day. I’d say I cast 3000 to 4000 times a day. Lately I’ve had elbow pain, is this common on the tour. I fish 3 to 4 days a week. I know the pros fish more than that. Is fishing elbow a real deal?? Thanks BH

Mr. Van Dam,

I’ve been serching everywhere I can think of, to find “Underwater” Contour maps of Reservoir’s in my state of Maryland. But I can’t find any. Could you please help me out! My grandson ask me and I can’t give him a true answer, where the dropoffs are, or how deep it is here. I don’t have the money to get expensive Sonar/fish finding equipment for a boat that cost 60.00 per day to rent. We would like to some day help our wounded solgiers get out on the water and enjoy the life that they so galently fought for.
