Figured I’d rig them up weedless on a 3/0 EWG worm hook. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks in advance guys!

It’s good to be back.
2013-06-18T20:44:10-05:00 Had painful (and somewhat scary) incident on the water http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11471/ http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11471/#When:10:45:07Z
Heather and I were fishing this past weekend. I was throwing a Sizmic Toad with a weighted Mustad 4/0 hook. The hook point became exposed during a retrieve and got hooked on a log. I worked a few minutes trying to flip it off the log – no luck.

I started to head over to the log keeping tension on the line. Luckily I had my fishing glasses on. As we got close the lure came flying off the log and hit me square in the glasses - right in the middle of the lens of the right eye. The tip of the hook was in my glasses. The pain of having the lure hit me almost knocked me out and I was seriously dazed for a few moments. Scared Heather to death – she was still shaking 15 minutes after it happened.

I didn’t get a black eye from it but I can feel a bruise where my glasses got knocked into where the bridge of the nose and eye socket meet.

be careful out there.
2013-06-18T10:45:07-05:00 rods http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11459/ http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11459/#When:15:31:58Z
all my rods are 20 years old and older…they are all 5 1/2…i need a change…looking in the $100 range…something with a fast tip…light weight…fishing in louisiana swamps…

thanks
2013-06-05T15:31:58-05:00 NAVIONICS FOR ANDROID http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11464/ http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11464/#When:01:07:56Z
Just a heads up, navionics for android is on sale right now for $0.99. What would you say is your favorite color for soft baits?

I would have to say mine is green pumpkin. It can look like anything to the fish. You could throw a GP worm and have it look like a green worm (found in the dirt around water), you can throw a GP fluke and have it look like a bluegill. You can throw a GP flippin bait or jig and have it look like a craw.. Anything in GP mimics something in the water.
2012-07-06T19:10:44-05:00 6 boxes of hard baits for sale http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11457/ http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11457/#When:16:52:20Z
Hey guys here are 6 boxes of hard baits that I’m selling. Some have hook rash and teeth marks and some of the bills on the cranks aren’t baby smooth anymore LOL BUT, they all work and preform properly…there aren’t any with cracks in the sides or baits that take on water.
I think two jerkbaits out of the entire box have a little chip out of one corner of the bill from being jerked into a submerged rock. They work fine, jerk and dart how they should still.
I do not want to mix and match baits from box to box, that would be to hard. I want to sell each box as is. The boxes in the pictures and hooks I have on the baits I am not selling. I can sell them without any hooks or with the original stock factory hooks. If you are going to replace with your own hooks I can ship them without any hooks…it will be easier for me.
PM me if you are interested. I do have Paypal.
Thanks,
Nik
2013-06-04T16:52:20-05:00 JUNEBUG & BAMA BUG http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11470/ http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11470/#When:09:43:08Z
Question for you fine folks…under what weather/sky conditions & water conditions/clarities do or would you use the soft plastic colors of JUNEBUG & BAMA BUG (green pumpkin & junebug mix)?

I think that they would work from light stain to heavily stain, but I’m not confident in my way of thinking. Here is my question—if my local TV station which is 40 miles east of me shows its BP for that city, how big of an area does that cover? Entire east coast? Just SC? Nationwide? The place I mostly fish is about 35 miles north of me. Do I need to track the BP for that zip code? Thanks!
2013-06-11T15:57:39-05:00 Happy Fathers day http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11469/ http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/11469/#When:08:13:06Z
To all that are Dads happy fathers day. to all who are not dads yet ” GET BUSY” it’s great.
