Ugh, major cold streak.

I’ve been out fishing 3-4 hours 4 times in the last week… And have one for sure keeper & one that was most likely short to show for it. Pretty sure they’re post spawn, the ones I did manage to catch were beat up crackheads, & it seems like everytime I can get out, it’s blue bird skies. The weeds have also taken over, the mats are just starting to set up enough for frogs to start getting out on them, but it’s been mostly pitching/casting plastics, since that’s about the only thing I can even fish without getting buried in weeds/grass. The gills haven’t got on the beds yet, so hopefully that gets going before too long & the bass break out of their funk and start biting again, because I’m getting a little sick of slowly working plastics for runts & nothing. I hate transitions. How’s everyone else doing lately?

My wife does not fish very often but has caught the bug this year it seems. My wife requested that i(well my uncle since he has a boat) take her out fishing for mothers day. We had just went out the day before and she caught her first bass. Its not a LM but hey rock bass count too right:) She was soo happy to finally catch a bass. Now onto sunday

We went to a nice large lake for mothers day fishing, a place called loon lake(trophy musky lake). We fished for a few hours and only caught a few small bass/ crappie. She was getting bored fishing (only me and my uncle caught anything) so we went to a few boat docks to try and put her on some fish. We ended up finding a school of smaller crappies and between the three of us we caught 40+ in the matther of 30 min or so. About 5 min later in the same exact spot i caught mine my wife landed a 11” crappie. She was soo happy to get a large crappie it really made her day. Im pretty sure that the 2 crappies were a m/f pair. I just think that is so cool we both caught one of the pair. Of course we would have no way to tell if the fish were actualy a pair but the odds are they were. She also got to see a 4 foot musky swim right up to the boat. Senior Prank Gone Wrong!!!

When I got to school this morning, everybody had to go to the gym so I went. Apparently the school was trashed. From what I heard a bunch of the seniors broke in the school by busting a window. Then they put crickets,rats,and chickens in the school. They took all the books out of everyone’s locker that didn’t have a lock on it. They also put a huge pile of sand in the floor. They also put soap on the floor. Someone also crapped in one of the teachers A/C in a class. Apparently one of the teachers got attacked by the chickens too.
I might not have to take finals now because all the folders and books are tore up. And 32 out of 65 seniors got expelled. Graduation is cancelled now. That sucks for people that signed with colleges already if they got expelled.
I got checked out at twelve because I would’ve had to sit on the bleachers all day.

The ponds around here are hurting. The one behind my house is a good ten feet from the grassline now. Is anybody else dealing with this as well?

I’ll admit, it does make things easier. The fish are still holding in the same area they typically do, so its easy to find them. Also easy to spot cover you wouldn’t typically see. trying to take advantage of it.

Sweet New St Croix Legend Tournament Rods….

Went to the St Croix factory today and bought 2 new St Croix Legend Tournament rods. The regular price for these rods is $240 each. Because of a VERY slight scratch (that I had to look really closely to find), the rods were $120 each. No other defect….just the same scratch it would have the instant it was put down on my boat.
The second rod actually had no scratch,....just a slight dulling of the finish on a part of the blank smaller than the top of a pencil eraser.

One Medium Heavy and one Medium.

I love a great deal.

KVD Signature series trigger rods

Recently BassPro shops had the application listed on the KVD Signature series trigger rods but the just removed the classifications. Does any one know what the application for each rod was? I am just getting into the KVD line of rods and wanted to know a good place to start. I know the 6’4” was for Jerk baits and the 7’ MedHvy was for worms. Does any one know what the other three were for? Thanks!

Want jigs

I am looking for arkie style and ballhead jigheads, non painted, non skirted, no weedguards glued. I want to make a few for myself and instead of going out and buying more molds, I know some of you guys have these molds. What would you charge for say 10? I would be more than willing to trade as well. I currently am pouring poisontail, bullet head jigs, football, and gammakatsu jighead (no weed guard, the ones with the double collar) If anyone is interested in a trade let me know. if not shoot me a price.

Anybody use these yet? I’ve read the hook keeper on their Heavy Cover flipping hooks was junk, so I’m wondering if it’s fixed with these. I know the hooks will be quality, but I’m a bit unsure of the keeper.
