SH8T,

Limit 5 fish 15"…

caught 20+ fish on everything in the box. Large baits, small, medium, crank, texas, spin, fluke, top water big and small, jerk bait, carolina, I even drop shot a 9” worm caught with like I said, everything.

Only two keepers 5.8# total, SUCK, you all know what!
My partner caught same amount with one keeper.

Now for the Sh8t part, I never been to this lake, show up murky water +\- 4 to 6 visibility very bad for this part of the country especially when you miss place a FRekin frakin drop shot rod and reel in 30 foot of water, Oh yeah you heard that right. Right after I caught my first keeper which was 15 1/4” at 9 am and some how shrank to just under the limit and I get penalized the 2 oz. an one less fish, !@#$! Now back to the rod and reel My partner nets the fish great so far, hook gets stuck in net, Oh well no biggy, I bite off hook take fish to measure it’s, close to limit so I ask partner to check again he agrees with what I saw and I put fish in well.  I take hook out of net and rod is not in the boat! !@#$%^&*()_!@#$%^&*()_+!@#$%^&*()_ shock  angry

El Capitan Reservior, San Diego California

The winner weighed in 15.11 all fish taken on smoke shad flukes with red weighted hooks, all fish were taken before 8 am against sticks in about 4-8 foot of water. Can’t wait till BPS opens this weekend I need a new rod! I decided to use my 7’ med St Croix for my Drop shot rod cuz these west coast reserviors catch very large fish on drop shot and my last rod that needed a bath for some dumb ace reason just wasn’t enough on some of the fish 4 to 5# with 4-6 flouro. it’s tuff to land at times when they are in the sticks. constantly retieing, won’t change but at least it won’t fill like the fish is going to break line & rod everytime it’s over 4#’s.  Lost set up was a St Croix 6’-6” med/lt with 4#line on a Daiwa Tierra 1500 with a 2000 spool anyone is welcome to it if you find it.

i live along the miss. up in northern wisconsin and is that drop shot fishing tuff to do. You know me being in the river it has fast current so no need to fish deep in they are shallow half the time.

yea couple weeks ago i lost a revo stx also. you will never think of what happend… i was fishing a frog and i set it down do turn the power up on the trolling motor it just has it that a big northern nails my frog and takes my pole with him dident get it back somhow he snapped 65 pound braid i was really mad and i laughed at the same time. it was my vault for leaving the frog sit in the water instead of reeling up in the boat. never leave a frog sitting out in the water without the rod in youre hand.

Man, thats a rice reel to lose. I ran across this video and thought I would share it with you guys. This is a link to a video of Lonnie Stanley having a rod being snatched from the deck of his boat while fishing a frog. Enjoy!
