just wanted to know what kind of boat you have and what you like about it....................... i have a 16 ft row boat and the only thing good about it is that well at least i have a boat and i can fish in it
I fished out of a jon boat until 1997, when I bought my first bass boat. It was a Nitro 640 with a 75 horse Merc. It got rear-ended by one of Atlanta’s finest on the way to the lake. After I got the check from the insurance company, I went out and bought a 17 ft. Javelin with a 90 horse Johnson. I have a lot of fond memories of my jon boat. Be thankful for what you have. I’m sure you have some good fish stories to share.
I up graded last year to a tr 186 with a merc 150. My old boat was a 12’ tri hull, which I still have for duck huntin. What a difference though! It’s nice on my home lake(Champlain) because it’s big water and when it gets kicked up you don’t have to worry about finding calm water.
I ust to have a triton but I went and got me a Skeeter 22-i, with a 250...I love that thing...I have a lot of space a HUGE front deck..the only thing I dont like about it is..the payment and the livewells, it has 2 but they ant all that big!!!!
i don’t have a boat, but i plan on getting a Bass Tracker PT 175, because that’s more in my price range. I’m going to shop around a little, and maybe buy a used boat from someone fi the price is right. I would rather not have an alluminum boat, but if that’s all i can get, then i’ll definitely take it.
yea i know what you mean. having a nitro or a triton or a tracker would be nice but sometimes you just have to do with what you can find. ive been looking for boats in the paper you can find good deals in there. im still trying to find a motor for my jon boat.
I have 18+ Stratos Vindacator, with a 150 Johnson on the back. It’s a 2000, at the price I bought it for, it was a steal. Okay boat, but in my own opinion, not built all that good. Don’t get me wrong, I have a boat, and I go anytime, anywhere, and don’t have to go with anyone if I don’t want. Ex.... I believe the console was, and I say was put together with drywall screws. I hit a back side wave, and the console would come off, but replaced that junk with stainless nuts and bolts.
Brownshelf2, if I may, alot of the things that I view is on BBC. It (in a sense) is a good way to get the word out on select items. This web site, like the BBC, is a big family. We all here all have similar interests, that’s why we’re here. Yes, I hope my answer is not to long stretched.
i think there would be some benefit from it. we could give each other the option to maybe hook each other up before trying to sell stuff to the rest of the public. did i make any sense to you guys?
That’s a great idea. Everybody is where there at and has their own connections, this is were we all benefit. We all talk to one another in our own way. I know refer to this web sight a bit but take a look at the BBC and see the way they conduct their web sight.
I have a 2007 14’ Tracker Topper 1436 jon boat with a Merc 9.9. My brother-n-law bought a trolling motor for it and we fish the heck out of it. It has been a great little boat. However, I am now wishing I could jump into a bass boat with the nice casting decks etc. I have pondered the fiberglass Nitro (640/750) and the aluminum 170/175 Pro Team boats. I have really liked my Tracker and couldn’t image getting anything else. The Merc is a horse, too.
I was given info on a really clean 1994 Nitro 170TF. It, of course, runs like a champ and looks like it just came off of the show room floor. It has the trailerable cover and everything included. The guy is wanting $6500 for it. My question is this...would you rather drop $5000-6500 for a 14 year old boat or use that money as a down payment on a new Nitro 640/750 or the Pro Team 170/175?? Something about that warranty seems awfully appealing to me, but wonder if I am just thinking way too hard about this and wanted to know your thoughts (I like to fish a stump filled lake, would that scare any of you away from a fiberglass boat?)…
PS - I think a boat listing would be awesome. I also think a small fee wouldn’t be too much to ask. You can’t place a classified ad in the paper or on-line for free any where else can you? What is more perfect than posting your boat listing in a boat/fishing arena? To me, sounds like that would be a sound investment for anyone wanting to sell their boat!
