Living on little sleep the last few days:

-Left out of Michigan after getting a foot of snow the day before.
-Slept in KY...hoping to be warmer...actually it was colder with no snow.

-Met Quantum Man...He gave me some great tube jigs and shacky head jigs.

-Kevin came to the booth at the end of Friday and the crowds got out of control. We had to cut it off after an hour of pictures an autographs.

-Strike King released their Shadilicious hollow swim bait. It looks awesome.

-Quantum has some greta deals on new reels.

-The Nitro center counsel looks awesome in person. I want that boat.

-Someone followed Kevin in a new Skeeter with a 300 and couldn’t keep up.

-I asked Kevin for some insider information. He smiled an said “6lb fish to start can’t hurt” smile
-He woke up at 3:45am Friday to get started. Checkd the weather and went out about his business.

-The new logo is catching on. It os on Toyota trucks, Quantum reels, and various ads.

-Ike, Horten, Crews, Wolverine, Kots, Skeet, and Aaron Martens have booths. KVD’s was constantly packed. I bought a Kota hat and shirt. It has a ninja on it - so it was mandatory in my DNA to buy it.

-SC has been awesome so far. Great folks.

-We are working to get some new products and inside information tomorrow.

-Oakley stopped in the booth. I have worn Oakley for years and can’t wait for more anglers to try them out. They make the best glasses by far.

-Saturday is a big day. We need KVD to open it up.

-Gonna get some sleep and head to the booth in the morning. Hope to see some of you there.

Cheers!

Crazy day. Ike’s good friend is working his booth a couple down from us. Anyway, he swings by to talk shop and a guy walks up to our booth and just started ripping Ike. He said things that are not cool to type in the Forum. Anyway, it was wierd watching Ike’s friend since childhood be cool and not say anything.

Saw Kevin tonight. He said he really had to work today. He was in great spirits.

Rooks swung by the booth last night and I really regret not getting to chat to talk to him. The booth was packed when KVD came.

There will be more pro’s on Sunday because of the cut. Stony and Quinn have been floating around.

Ray Scott swung by the front of the booth and gave his approval. That was pretty cool.

Another thought...Oakley showed us a new lense that had a rain-x type amterial in it...not on it...and we wrote on it with a Sharpie and the ink wouldn’t stick...then we poored water on it and it jumped off the lense.

Totally sick. I just found out tonight that I can get that with a prescription lense. Hot. Hot. Hot. They are so light and I am buying some soon as I get back.

The Oakley guy in charge of sponsorship of the major pros told us some cool stories about Jordan, Armstrong, and other major players. Coolest visit so far. Any time a story involves Nascar dudes, helicopters, and a quick round of golf makes fo a good time.

We will see more from Oakley in the future on the sight...as in contests for their gear.

Thorlo / Kevin Vandam partnership.

Kevin went out of his way to tell me that he was wearing Thorlo socks tonight. Thorlo is a partnership about comfort and not about glitz. I tried some socks out earlier this month and was blown away.

They will be doing some contests for the KVD site (free goodies) this year.

I dare you to wear a pair. My wife was a tennis all american in college and I have more of these socks laying around for the last 10 years than I want to admit. Anyway, I finally tried a pair when they partnered with us.

My back and feet hurt after being in the boat all day. These will go a long way into helping that.

Good stuff. They had never been to a BASS event and were amazed at the event and participation.

I will keep you posted on some fun things we are working out with them for you...The Forum.

one thing that Brownshelf and I talked about at the classic was how crazy Bass was by seperating everything.  The lake was 45 min away from Greenville where they had the Classic expo then the weigh in was another 10-15 min. away at the Bi-Lo center the good thing is they had shuttles going to and from the Bi-Lo.  I just wish they had everything alot closer together.  Over all the show and weigh ins were great both places were packed everyday especially the expo and the weigh in was packed on Sun. for day 3 some where around 28,000 people for the final weigh in.  This was my second classic my first was the 2006 classic at Kissimmee, Fl they had the weigh in and the expo both in the same building and Lake Kissimmee was just 15 min away so everything was easy and accessable by all the fans.
