The King held court at the Bass Pro Shop in Atlanta tonight. According to the website, Ish Monroe was supposed to be there too. He couldn’t make it for some reason, so we were treated to a seminar by Boyd Duckett. He showed us several of his favorite techniques in the aquarium. This lasted about an hour. Meanwhile, the receiving line stretched all the way to the front of the store. It must feel great to be loved by so many people. I decided to go get a bite to eat and let the crowd die down. When I returned, the line was only about 25 ft. long. I met some nice folks while waiting, and we shared some stories. The lady in front of me had been at the Classic with her husband, following the pros in their boat. She named all of the pros she got to meet, and how much fun they had. That made me feel even worse about having to work last weekend. The gentleman behind me took my picture with Kevin and is going to e-mail it to me. He also took a picture with my cell phone. I could tell Kevin was tired, but he was very cordial. I told him that I was a regular on his website. He thanked me and said that they had spent a lot of money to make this the top quality site that it is. I told him that this is the friendliest forum that I have ever been a part of. He nodded his head in agreement. Next, I got to tell Boyd Duckett about the back of Beaverdam Creek on Lake Hartwell. Back in April of 2000, I won my club tournament fishing the weed beds in the back of the creek. He said the lake is so low now that the grass flat is high and dry. I left the store with pictures, an autographed hat, and $125.00 worth of fishing lures. I’m ready to get my line stretched!
