In the 2008 Classic on ESPN some of the boats had long black or white tube looking things along their main outboard engines. Some only had one, some had them on both sides. I’ve never seen them before and was just wondering what they were.

i think its the shallow water anchor...they are remote controlled and just have a little foot that goes town in the water and keeps the boat from moving. they’ve just become big in the last couple years

Do you have any idea who manufacturs them, I’m familiar with most of the stuff rigged on Walleye tournment angles boats, but not bass boats.

Yep the Power-pole RiverRat has it down.  Some of the guys were running 2 of these things, they’re pretty light weight and very strong.

Maybe it could have a dual purpose, like a polish cannon and a anchor all in one! All though it looks like it would make a better flag holder for the 4th of July when we’re floating down a river. shock

They are a couple grand installed & fully rigged with batteries (for remote lifting etc).

Pricey anchors. I don’t like the look either.
