The G-man had a frustrating moment and lost his focus. Everyone loses their focus sometime.

i think it is wrong to base a oppinion on an angler just because of one bad moment that they had. there is so much pressure on them and when they loose a fish it is like loosing 10000 dollars. give em a brake

i agree, but a president cant do that, they arent getting paid to fish only, they get paid to be a total professional, and controling emotions is part of that. a lil is not bad, but if anyone ever has a meltdown there is no excuse. one thing ya need to remember, winning 100,000 to them is like winning 3000 to me, im not gonna break my things and act stupid over 3,000 bucks. i vent my frustrations on the way home when i question myself.

I hate to beat a dead horse here, but I like the G-man. He is funny and I think a good voice of bass fishing. He was hilarious on the Mike and Mike show during the classic. I say cut him some slack. I admire a person with passion. For example, sometimes I have a tough time accepting Ike, but I can. He is just really, really passionate person and is driven to win. I may not agree with Ike’s style when he catches a fish, for example, but I appreciate his passion and drive to win. I guess it’s good that KVD is calm, cool, and collected. I read where KVD likes Metallica so that is just one more feather in my cap as to why KVD is the coolest bassmaster out there!  wink

cool smile I just met the G-man yesterday at the Bass Pro Shop. He talked about the tours, tips, and who’s pulling pranks on who. He talked about breaking the rod, and getting disqualified. He also explained to the younger crowd that it was wrong to do what he did. He didn’t have to bring up all that. But young and old know straight from him it was a mistake. Good lesson learned, especially when you own up to it! I think he’s a class act and happy to have him sign my ballcap. “Let him without sin cast the first stone”.

i like G-man, but ya cant just do something dumb, and say sorry, i was wrong, then do another dumb and say sorry, sorrys shouldnt be needed very often if people control some of the actions in the 1st place. Everyone is gonna makea mistake, and all are gonan make another, but when list gets longer the angler will stop getting repect from those who are class acts

i think marketing plays a roll. think about it ur not doing good in ur tournament the media is not covering ur boat as much so ur sponsors arnt getting air time so what do u do well if ur r creative u can let those emotion’s out with more feeling u get air time that way so ur doing ur job for ur sponsors i know sometime that might not be the case but i do think marketing may be behind it im starting to learn about the business end of fishing and one of the things iv read is that u need to be creative and i do think makeing a sen out on the water ether yelling brakingsomething or just doing something different bring’s u more air time

bad publicity during a slump isnt so good 4 sponsors, i would think if the angler focused more on fishing instead of media airtime he would pull himself out of his slump

All these guys lose their cool. In fact, all of us do to. Maybe not in the same way, but we do. No one stays 100% focused. Not even the great Clunn. I’ve even seen a clip of KVD throwing his spinning rod into the lake and then later retrieving it stating “dont think that I’m not ticked off right now”. It happens, and those anglers that look at this like a sport and have this kind of pressure are going to have these melt downs and for them its more about the money then the respect.
