I am just as passionate as Ike is, but I’m still not gonna make an a## out of myself just for catching a fish. The “freaks”, as you call ‘em, don’t draw in the non-bassing fans, yes, they are laughing, but, they are laughing AT him, not with him. When he catches one, he should act like, or actually BE a man, put it in the livewell and make another cast. I mentioned this before, outside of his little “endzone celebration”, I like his persona very much.

im just wondering.....lots of people have pets or hunting dogs.......would you grab your dog and scream into its mouth and shake him around...i wouldnt, ya know the impact its gonna have to a dog, fish dont die just because oxegyn or heat in live well, they die from stress as well....Just put the damn fish in the livewell, then scream and yell and dance. the impact on the fish & the treatment of the fish needs to be considered 1st, then we can all say opinions on him.

bassin, all I am saying is that every sport has them.  The one person who goes against the grain from the “norm”.  Ike is not doing harm to professional bass fishing, nor is G-man.  Sure, their acts are on the low end of the scale, but, again, it’s a sport.  Sport is entertainment.  If a passionate angler bothers someone, there is always golf...opps, Tiger sometimes gets overexcited there, too.

Top 10, that is a good point, however, I would guess that the BASS officials would being having a talk w/Ike if his actions were determental to a fish.  So far, I have not seen his actions cause a fish to die, but, yet, have seen where Steve Kennedy lost a fish in a tourney (and he is far from being “wild").  Yes, I would not shout into a bass’ mouth or do most of what Ike does, but he does draw fans into the sport.  I watched the ESPN coverage and they showed Ike and he had a lot fans.

Ike is no KVD.  KVD is calm, cool, and collected.  KVD catches his fish and wants to get it in the box as fast as he can so he can get to his next cast.  Just a difference of style.  For example, looking at football...Jim McMahon was no Joe Montana (wild vs. class), but both were successful.  That’s all I’m saying - people are different, but can accomplish the same thing.

i see you all point and i respect it, no harm no foul, but ima firm believe that judges should get same penalty as common citizens when they get DUI, i believe cops shouldnt get a slap on the wrist when they assault someone and presidents should get in same trouble as me if they lie in court, i believe in equality regardless on status and money,,,,,,so in my eyes, even though he has earned his way to be in front of boat, a fisherman on highest level and fisherman in back of boat should get treated equal by people....heres something to think about.....what if Kevin came on and said he had a bad tournament, his co-boaters acted a fool....yelling at his fish and screaming, break dancing in his boat..a real embarrassment to him in front of media.....would we all still tell kevin that no harm no foul, or would we say what an idiot the guy was and im pretty sure the next person i fished with wouldnt cut me much slack either, i would probably say nobody is gonna know you had any skills regarding fishing cause your other actions stood out so much. i know some will stick to thier opinion and say its all good, but i will bet a paycheck that some of those, even on this forum would see it in another light since it was kevin speaking about it or because we think if kevin dont like it, it must have been bad. is it ok to do that from back of the boat just as it is from front? it should be if its all ok. The scenario is same no matter who it is, pro or amatuer, status dont give any more rights in how you act and you still get judged by your actions.

KVD and Ike are my 2 favorite anglers, not because of how they act, but because of how they fish. Both have been past Angler of the year and Classics winners and both are power fishermen....... just my style tongue wink
I have to admit though, the first time I saw Ike scream like that, I was like what the heck??!!?!!? I dont think I liked him much either, until 03 when he won his first Classic. Thats when I realized despite acting “foolish” or “moronic” as so many call him. He was equally, if not more skilled than most of his fellow anglers. To this day, I continue to watch and take notes from both of these guys. You should never judge a book by its cover.

Judging a book by its cover is in reference to ones physical appearance, not their behavior. We are obviously going to agree to disagree, I just would like to see ALL pros act like respectable men......except for the women. By the way, thats a funny looking mustache you have in your avatar!haha

Top 10, I guess like bassin suggests, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on the Ike issue.  1) Jim McMahon, despite your, or the world’s opinion, has a Superbowl ring where you and I do not and 2) Ike, despite your, or the worlds opinion has an AOY AND Classic victory to show for his skills where you and I do not.  In my opinion, if KVD started break dancin’ and screaming etc, I think we’d all be a bit concerned.  Those actions aren’t why we became KVD fans.  That is not my point.  Different strokes for different folks.  I’ve only followed the “big leagues” of pro fishing for a little over a year now and Ike and G-man have been acting the same all that time, so their actions shouldn’t be “shocking” anymore to anyone who’s been following for a longer period.  You prefer to have your anglers act a certain way (the KVD way), so do I.  However, I am not going to convict another angler, like Ike or G-man, to hell because they act a different way.  Heck, we’re all freaks man, enjoy the show!  LOL
