Has anyone tried fishing a fall pattern yet? The salmon are already moving in the rivers here in Mich. That might make the all star tourney interesting. I’m thinking about spinnerbaits and squarebills now. It’s getting darker sooner, and sometime it’s going to get cooler. I’m also going to bring my 8’ launcher with a 1- knocker. What are some of the areas you guys key in on in the fall?

same here, been that hottest of the year the last 2 or 3 days, maybe shorter days and longer nights but the water temps are rising, not cooling. but we got 30-40 degree cooler weather coming soon. then i might start throwing the fall pattern, if the weeds start to go down. I won’t until the weeds start to recede, they weeds are what tells me when to start the fall pattern.

This.

2 feet of snow on Halloween is not uncommon too.

Topwater, A-rig, and frogs are my Fall patterns. Like the others have said, water is still in the 80’s. Once the baits start migrating and the daylight really falls off, Fall fishing should be in full swing.

I fished a tourney here in Ill. last weekend with water temps in the 80s.  The bait of the day was the spinnerbait shallow - they were hitting it all day - even when the air temps rose to 95 with sunny skies.

I like throwing spinnerbaits and cranks in the fall.  This year I’m going to add the swimjig to the fall arsenal.

Don’t forget the chatterbait flyman, sounds like my kind of fishing!

High of 60 here tomorrow, but it was bloody hot earlier this week. All my temps are surface temps. I’m not sure how accurate a sometimes. Maybe when a lake turns over its more accurate.

Man a high of 60 would be SWEET! We are going to have a high of 70 tomorrow (FINALLY!) but 60 would be even better!

We only have 2seasons in Wisconsin, winter and construction. This time of year I like a lipless crank ripped out of the dying grass and a shallow crankbait. Cover water unril you find one then fish that area really goods, they can be bunched up thick.
