Personally i like braid because its 1 no stretch, lots of power & sensitivity. and as a bonus if you get a backlash its low memory so its usually not as bad.
i just recently used it, i am using stealth, 50lb. i like it and hasnt tore anything up yet. i have Mono backing under it and it hasnt cut into itself yet. im also using it on my carolina rig with a Flouro leader, it is very sensative, you can feel every pebble, but ya dont need the big sweeping hookset ya once needed, its taking a lil while to get used to that. i have broke a few leaders off on fish in last 3 outings because i havent adjusted hookset yet
I have been using Spiderwire Stealth but I’m switching up to Powerpro for this year I hear it is very good and many of my buddies already use it. I haven’t had any problems with braid tearing up my equipment. Just remember to always use a mono backer on your spool to cut down on line slipage on the spool and so the braid wont cut into itself. Favorite mono is Berkley Trilene XL.
i havnt had a problem with any of the braids ive tried. i trust powerpro the most but im gona try to find something a little cheaper since my buddies always hit me up for some after they break a fish off flippin with mono.
I have tried PowerPro (flat) - didn’t like the way casted or it cut into itself.
I tried Sufix Performance braid (round) - liked it a lot and it doesn’t cut into itself - casts very well.
I tried Spiderwire Ultracast Invisi-Braid - loved it. It’s easy to see above the water and almost invisible below. It is flat so does cut into itself slightly but not nearly as badly as the Power Pro.

I love the feel of FireLine, fished 10lb black for walleye and crappie because its the diamater of 4lb mono. I moved up to 14lb FireLine Crystal. HATE IT! its supposed to be invisiable but its just white. I think it would be invisible if i was fishing in 30 ft of water. But i still hate it.
Theres also fireline crystal.Fireline works great on spinning reels, but not so good on baitcasters from my experience.I use power pro,and have had no problems with it,as long as you are willing to spend the money.
Braid will fray but not as fast as mono and flouro. Braid is like a rope, Its strong when you first get it and it will stay strong for a while, but over time it will weeken. The more abuse you put it through, the faster it will fray. If you are fishing it around rocks and stuff it will weaken faster and you will want to retie more often.
I love Sufix braid. I use it on all my casting rods. One has 6lb braid. It has the diameter of 2lb so its hard to see and no stretch or abrasion for getting into weeds with finesse baits. One has 20lb and my flipping/jigging rod has 30lb. I always take a foot or two of line off every time I go out and I havent had a problem. I have 10x more overruns with mono and fluoro on baitcasters as I do with braid.
