just wondering if you guys service (oil and grease) your reels yourself or do you send them off somewhere. Also has anyone of you ever sent your reel to quantum and let them service it?

I service all of my spinning reels on my own. However, i am still trying to figure out how to service my baitcasters, so they currently have gone unserviced,( I did oil them once, but nothing close to what should have been done). Try going to a local outdoors retailer and asking if they can servisce it so you don’t have to wait while it’s in the mail. I know nothing about sending the reels in though, thats the first time i’ve heard of that. You can seriously do that?

never mind I found a guy that services all kinds of major reel companies about 45 minutes from my home so I’m just going to take my reels there. Thanks though!

Howdy,

This is my first time to post on this site (I never knew it was out here).  If you guys ever have questions about servicing your baitcasters just drop me an email.  I would be happy to help you out.  I own a Reel Shop in Oklahoma and I am sure I can make your lives much easier.  The more ya do it, the easier it becomes.  I am working on some tutorials that should help out the adventurous angler that services his own equipment.

i know a lot of guys who use thier backups and send all thier reels out 4 service, its nice to have someone look thru everything, and the4 price is normally reasonable.
