One of the best up here in Michigan since we have a big bluegill base and not many shad.

As fas as I know they will only have 2 sizes the 1/2 oz version which is the one out now and after Icast the 3/4 oz version is supposed to hit the market in time for the holidays.  I have no knowledge of a 1/4 oz version coming out.  There are supposed to be some new colors as well on of which is the chartruese sexy shad color.

A 1/4-ounce size is in the design stage. “We’re having some trouble getting it right,” Marks explains. “It’s been more difficult to engineer than we first thought, and Strike King doesn’t release anything until it’s right, period.”

That is on website for BASS, so its correct, its not out but 1 is being worked on

Cool it will give them a line up to compete with Bill Lewis.  I thought they were lacking in the size selection a little.  The 1/2 oz is a good all around size but you really do need the 1/4 oz for the summer when the weeds reach their tallest point and the 3/4 oz will be good for offshore structure fishing.  Thanks for the update.

when im not using red eye shad, im using Lucky Craft or Excaliber lipless, i also like Yo-Zuri. All of those comes thru coontail grass better that rattle traps. If im fishing out of the grass i dont mind traps at all.

The chrome sexy shad is a great color for sunny days, the sexy shad color is good for the cloudy days and if you have a large bluegill population then try the Japanese shad color resembles a bluegill better than any other color they have.

I definitely agree with you about the Japanese color pattern. I fish a lot of smaller natural lakes in northern Indiana where the primary forage species bluegills as opposed to shad. That pattern of redeye shad has been absolutely amazing this season for me.

Strike King is proud to introduce the new 1/4oz and 3/4oz Red Eye Shads to the market

Just got that from Strike Kings website about what products was out from ICast, 300 new products and or colors from them this year. They showed a sexy shad spinnerbait, fantastic looking skirt.

Haha, I’ve got to correct myself...the specific color pattern that I’ve been using wasn’t the Japanese shad, but the Morjarra pattern. A brilliant piece of art for for the money. They’re rare in stores around my area, so the next time I come across some in that pattern (or if I get too impatient just order them online) I’m loadin’ up on them!
