As Ive stated in several threads here at KVD forums the members here seem to be the most open minded outdoor forum guys Ive ever seen on any forum period. So as more than just a fisherman I was thinking it would be interesting if this fall a creation of a “Off Season” section be added. In this section have 2-4 sub-sections for Fall and Winter outdoor sports such as Deer Hunting, Small Game hunting and Upland game hunting as well as a potential Hunting equipment. I know KVD is known as the most successfull pro angeler in the sports history. But after reading his bio even KVD and it appears his entire family are more than just anglers but dedicated outdoorsmen. If this suggestion is off base or if there is a fear of taking a fishing forum and having it overtaken by hunters making this not fly I personaly wont be upset at all. Im just thinking about how to make this site better and better. Im sure Im not the only guy here who hunts when the water gets colder and colder.
That would be a wonderful idea. I also would like to hear about his own hunting trips, maybe some off-season photos and any tips he can offer his fans.
No I wish I did or could. I live in rented duplex so all I have is a cat. I just walk slowly and stomp on any and all brush piles, weed clumps and thickets. Squirel hunting is my favorite just a slow stalk and spot. I don’t deer hunt anymore becuase I had a guy hold his shotgun to my head and take my gun and deer when I was in the middle of gutting it on state land. Never been back out since and I don’t have any private land to hunt.

You should have went back to the parking lot and got his plate numbers and reported him.

Not near as bad, but thats part of the reason I stopped big game hunting. To many jerks on public lead I might get back into deer hunting if I can get a membership to a local beagle club. Its over 200 acres and members only are allowed to hunt deer, turkey and varmits no bunnys though. Need those for field trials.
I was turkey hunting several years ago on private land. I took my cousin and we both brought a kid along with us. The kid I brought was the farmers son. Didnt take long and we had a hot tom coming our way. We saw him twice but out of gun range. The last time we saw him he was headed straight at us and popped out of sight going down a small hill. Suddenly we heard a loud POW! and the turkey flop. I saw the guy he was sat up right in our line of fire if that turkey would have passed him he’d had would have probably shot one of us. I motioned to my cousin and we got the boys out, I asked the farmers son if anyone else had permission to be there and he said no. That his dad was only going to let me turkey hunt that season. At the truck we discussed going back to have a discussion with that guy but figured better of it. We didnt want to give the boys the wrong impression even if we wasnt doing anything wrong.
Great idea, I would be in on that! I don’t deer hunt much anymore either. We had set up in a ground blind and 3 teenagers came along and started shooting at a tree in our direction with rifles after that I don’t care for it much anymore. Plus, waterfowling is alot more fun if you are into some fast action.

Always wanted to try some waterfowl action. But I do know that quail hunting can be some fast pace action as well if you can get on a convey or two.
We don’t have any quail around here, but it does sound fun. Good pheasant and partridge huntin around our parts though. Keeps you sharp for shootin ducks.
