Well I was born and raised in Michigan. Spent a few summers in Indiana with my dad catching channel cat and crappie on the Mississinewa & Salamonie dams. The he moved to Michigan and we would go out on the big manistee from matsons campground searching for those big salmon! Anyway I’ve always had a thing for bass, and now that I’m able to have my own boat bass are my obsession! I’m a multiple combat veteran currently serving in the US Army.

Do I really have to deploy again to afford a new boat? Yep :(
My next deployment will buy me a new Triton TR-20X HP with a 225 Merc!
Amazing what a guy will put up with for a new bass boat!

oh...let your girlfriend drive the boat...she may get hooked on the sport and challenge you for the rights to run the trolling motor

my dear little bride...is scared of the water....and the boat was her idea....go figure.

welcome again...glad you’re here...and be careful on your next deployment....gotta have you all in one piece to get the most of your Triton.

My dad lives somewhere on the south side of Grand Rapids probably real close to you. He doesn’t Bass fish, although he has shown signs of interest. He is a Salmon, Steelhead, Walleye kinda guy. And if you ever see A big white Chevy 4X4 d-max dually with a MI plate that says 1CAST pulling a river runner (green) with a evenrude jet drive outboard on it that would be my crazy dad!

Thanks for the support, I can not express how much it means for a Soldier to receive support from someone they have never met.

My wife is scared of the water, but she seems ok with the boat idea so far but I haven’t even told her about what they cost! But I will pull the quality family time spent fishing line on her. By then my daughter will be about 3 or 4 and ready to learn how to fish, little does the little one know that fishing runs in her blood! cheese

quality family time...on the water. just dont scare them… when the wind comes up or the clouds gather...that aint a lot of fun....been there, done that, got the wet t-shirt to remember it by… my son doesnt mind the rough water....but is a little nervous when there is lightning around....but thats a good thing.

as for your daughter learning to fish....be ready for her to outfish you.....my son is only 13 now and is pretty consistant in having better days than me.  this past spring during his spring beak....he smoked me...i was releasing one of my ‘brush’ fish.....and he wanted to hurry up and cast the new plastic bait he just rigged Texas style...told him i would be a few minutes, just to throw out in the the deeper water instead of the brush line we were on....he did...one new bait, one cast, one bass......all before i got clear of the release point....his remarks...."this aint so tuff...”

you gotta love ‘em
