you all have mostly clearer water, but i was told that here in Illinois where the water is a lot more stained that they arent as good as they say.

i recently got the 797. The technology is pretty amazing. It might not be what you expect tho, the pictures you see advertised are huge objects, most of the cover you see is relatively small, its basically like an arial photo of the bottom. The best thing about it is seeing how the structure is layed out. Creek channels are easy to see, and grasslines are a breeze. It seems to do well in stained water, but i havnt used it in muddy water yet. I really havnt been getting a good reading past 30-40ft tho, anywhere. but the worst thing about it is that i spent to much time looking at it and not enough time fishing lol. all and all its gona put you on some good spots if you already know what to look for, and i think the best thing it can do for you is keep you out of unproductive water.
