Guys....I understand the casual nature of this board but holy smokes.....let’s all try to recall 3rd grade spelling class.  There are a few posts I have tried to read but absolutely could not handle. The spelling and sentence structure made it seem that the author was from another planet !  I read one post currently on the “General Chat” board 3 separate times trying to understand one guy’s obviously important problem, but even after multiple attempts, I could not understand the meaning of the post.

I absolutely mean no disrespect , because most guys here seem like great, friendly guys, but a small amount of care and proofreading should be a prerequisite for typing ideas and comments here.
There is (last I checked) a spell check feature attached to this board.......I beg of you to use it.

Yep, it should. Should being the key word here. Proper grammar is something that apparently doesnt apply to forums. But, unfortunately, it is what it is. Take it or leave it. Thats all I could come up with when I faced this problem.

I totally agree...it is quite nerve racking to read a post and not know where one sentence ends and another begins.  And the spelling thing is as simple as right clicking on the underlined word and picking the right one from the list.  Not too hard to do and would make it a lot easier and user friendly when trying to read.

i can understand that not everybody came from the same background and if someone mispells a word wrong or forgets to capitalize or something like that, i wont complain as long as i can get what they are saying. however it can get quite fustrating when the sentences run together and your not quite sure what someone is asking. a simple period at the end of a sentence would help.
i can admit sometimes i forget to use punctuation, and i am not the best at spelling but if it will help out i will use the spell check more.

I dont know about the rest of you, but the spellcheck feature stopped working for me about a month ago.

to be honest AAav8or, alot of people here dont care how we type or sound. Its a forum, its just like talking to your buddys at the bar. You dont stop them and tell them “you didnt stop long enough and i cant understand what your saying”.

If you really cant stand it, then your going to have to do something about it yourself.

People are not going to change the way they type just to please you.

That one was probably mine. I kinda figured it would run together and what not. I just needed to get something off my chest and this was the one place I felt people would listen. Sorry for any confusion, but in all honestly my grammar and spelling are lack luster. Only thing I learned in english class in high school was how to write extremely small on a very small peice of paper if you know what I mean.

on the other hand, this forum isnt age restricted and someone may be posting who is 13, and the fact that not everyone can type.

And not everyone is from the same country.

I certainly understand all of that. That is why I mentioned that I do indeed realize the forum has a casual nature. I would not want it any other way.
However, in communication, there is a certain minimum standard that we all need to have.  Even though some may not have attended higher levels of education, we ALL (at least I assume) attended elementary school and at least 2 years of HS, where we learned how to form a sentence.
As far as typing, I too don’t know how to type. I type like a cop (with one finger on each hand). 

It just gets tough to understand some posts.  I love reading them....and want to get all the information I can.

well, sometimes we have the tendancy to type like we talk. it is really difficult to type with a drawl like we have down south...but usually the message is delivered and hopefully understood. i do agree that there are some entries in this forum that require a ‘double-read’ occasionally...kinda like the signature on BBK’s posts. i sat and read that signature a fistful of times before i finally understood it....and agree about kvd being the best angler in the world.

yeah it took me a while to figure out his signature also. he must have lots of time on his hands.
