Aren’t patterns the lures you throw in a given time of year.

thats only part of it. when your finding a pattern your trying to figure out where they are, what kind of mood they are in, what they are feeding on, and how they are responding.  you could have the right location and bait at hand but maybe they dont like the retrieve you are giving them. part of that pattern is trying to figure out what they want and how do they want it.

yeah i think of a pattern as a certain way you catch fish in a given day or whatever, like a spinnerbait around docks in 4 feet of water. and you can run the entire lake doing this “pattern” and catch fish, so if you find 5 spots that are similiar and holding fish and biting the same presentations you got yourself a pattern. the latest bassin’ magazine has a real good article on patterns, they explain it pretty good.

Well I just got back fishing and I caught a couple of fish on a shallow running Crankbait.
