On a 15 mph windy day, what bait would you start out using? Then as the day goes on the wind dies down to 5-10mph,then would you stay with the same bait or use something different? It is overcast and drizzling rain off and on,with the water temp at 73,Fishing in grass on Guntersville Lake.

I would use either a spinnerbait or a lipless bait fished over the grass on the wind blown side looking for irregularities or changes in the weeds like points, indentations or holes in the weeds.  As long as the fish are still hitting those baits I would stick with them.  Maybe changing to a buzzbait or other topwater like a zaraspook.

I wish I had a day like this on Sun. instead it started out at 37 degrees in the morning warming up to about 66 with dense fog until about 9:00 am then burning off and partly cloudy with little to no wind all day and the water temp. was 60.3 warming up 66.9 in the shallows by late afternoon when we had to come in for weigh in.  In was a brutal day for us.

The two best times to be fishing is when its rainin’ and when it ain’t.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.  Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Men and fish are alike.  They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.
