ok guys…let me hear from you about high pressue….not the knd of pressure you get from not having a fish in the boat and you’re an hour from weigh-in, but the barometric kind of pressure.

had one slap at a topwater lure last saturday morning….and nothing else…. blue bird skies, water temp right around 70 degrees…not enough wind to make a difference…air temp was around 50 and warmed up to upper 70’s.  threw every color of lipless cranks i got in the box….while my son tossed the plastic worms and creature baits….

is this a good case of largemouth lockjaw??

High pressure I hate it but I slow down and pitch jigs, sweetbeavers and zoom super hogs to thick weeds.  I think they hunker down in the thickest stuff they can get into and won’t hit unless you hit them on the head and make them bite.

why is it i cant remember this stuff on the water during those tough times??  i was so preoccupied with checking out areas that are normally underwater…i kept running into grass beds and sandy bottoms which are all well and good for the spring….i couldnt concentrate on what to throw

actually, grass beds are good anytime, they are structure, cover and ambush areas, they also have higher Oxygen levels if its green and live. When fronts come thru are sunlight is bright and fishing is slow, i work those grass beds thoroughly, but i like to find beds in 10-15’ rather than shallow grass.
