Hey Jakester I like 2 worms for shakey head fishing,  they are the Zoon trick worm and the Strike king 7” finesse worm 3X material.  The trick worm is easier to rig and stays up on the barb better but the Strike king worm in 3X will last longer,  you could catch over 20 fish on one worm but on the trick worm maybe only about 4 before it got trashed.  Keep the colors simple too, I like watermalon,  watermelon/red and greenpumpkin.

berkley gulp plastics are very good and they do catch fish, but the only down side to them is that there a one or two fish lure, meaning they will be trashed after you catch one or two fish. there also expensive, but i think they are worth it…

Another downside to Gulp! is if you use a worm and don’t put it back in the package, after a while it dries out and you can’t re-use it. That’s been my expeience with Gulp!.

These are the same two worms I like to use on my shakey heads. The 3X material the Strike King is made of floats and the tail end of the worm will almost stand strait up. Also, it is a very soft plastic and will “shake” with very little action.

i tried the samples i got from Next Level and i really liked the way they moved and held up on a shakey head. I like Zoom but next level actually lasted longer per bait 4 me.

do you mean the bubbleback lizards that was made by Gene Larew? If so i think they stopped making them, for years now i have been looking for the 4” bubbleback lizard in Confetti color, only person i found that had some said they would only sell 10,000…. and he must have known they were hard to find cause he wanted a small fortune.

Jakester,

My favorite is the 3X Series from Strike King. It has a very lively action and the buoyancy cause it to stand up. I throw the 7” most of the time for LMB and the 4” for SMB.

Strike King makes an awesome shaky head jig mainly because of the barb.
