I keep trying to post my pictures from this past weekend on Lake Erie but keep getting kicked back with a statement that file size is to big.  What do I need to do to get them on here?  Please help before you all think I just feeding you a fish story.

The current max file size is set to 800k per message in the forums. Enough for 1-4 decent sized pics per message depending on how flexible a file resizing you’re able to do. Let me know. I can increase the max attachment size, i just wanted to avoid too many huge files. Usually a 200-800k image is plenty big for web viewing. If you need help resizing let me know. Otherwise I can up the allowed attachment size if you know how large your images are. For web viewing there’s no need to attach a 5 mega pixel or so shot though…

Anybody that spends the kind of money that you do on Quantum equipment has to be some what legitmate on his story. juz kiddn QM - I had the same problem with my Clear Lake photos. I had all my shots on it’s highest res. for my partners pro posters and I forgot to down size it. My photo shop could bring down in size but it looked like shizit for this site so maybe next time from Clear Lake?

Let me know a good size for you guys to downsize to, and I’ll up the setting. I just don’t want 2 MB pics being posted left and right, we’ll kill the band width.

right click your photo and click properties see what size the picture is, you might be able to just set your mouse over the picture and it will say. You probly already know this and just might be another issue. but with that camera i dont think you could be but 300kb with alot of detail can’t wait to see the photos!

Alright guys, I increased the attachment size to 1000KB, or 1 MB. You can attach up to 4 pics per message. Max height per image is 600 pixels; if that’s an issue let me know. So if you have more than that, just reply and post pictures in a new reply window.

To add a picture just look below the window you type in, there’s a field entitled “Attachments” click the Browse button to find the file(s) you’d like to attach. You may have to add some copy in the Message window for an image to attach. But other than that it’s pretty straight forward. Let me know if anyone still has questions and I’ll help the best I can. If the photos are very hi-res you may need to downsize them to get them to the 1MB limit.

One more thing. If you can keep your attachments to 200-400KB we’d appreciate it. You can post a 1MB file, but it’d be best to still keep your file size somewhat controlled in the interest of server space.

thanks all.

I’m still having troubles the size says they 1.08mb and 1.79mb.  I’ve been trying to downsize the photos but I can’t find a way so if you can help or if you want to give me your e-mail address I will be more than happy to e-mail them to you.

photo wizard should let you “Save as”, or resize the photo’s manually under some kind of “Image size” adjustment. If you “save as” a JPG, and choose medium, to low quality, that should get your file down to size to post in here. Let me know if that works.
