Biggest Bass was a little over 5 Lbs. (SM)  Landed a few hundred fish with the best day about 35 and seeing as I wasn’t targeting Bass not a bad year.  How did you fellows and Girls do????  Bob

I managed to catch my personal biggest flathead catfish 47 pounds limblining with a cut brim at night. Biggest bass this year was 3 1/2 pounds and came on a Stanley ribbit frog. Biggest shellcracker was 1.9 pounds on a cricket. Biggest longnose gar I’ve ever caught 22 pounds, on a limbline for catfish. It was a great year for me so far..I could still catch a big bass, in cold water.

Congratulations muskiebobsr, on your induction into the hall of fame.
I am 79 with some health problems and i am not as strong as i used to be
but i can still catch bass from the bank; i just can’t fish as hard as i used to
and you know? somehow it is more enjoyable; i seem to notice things around me more
than i used to and just enjoy being at the water with my pole in my hand.
Continued good luck to you

Well you can have this cold weather.  I’m staying in until the water is soft again. This is going to be a break out season for Lake St Clair for both Bass and Muskie.  Someone will catch a 8 pound Smallmouth and there will be a fifty pound Muskie landed before the next season is over.

Well it won’t be long before we can do some C&R;Bass fishing on Clair.  I’m looking forward to it as Bass was my first love so many years ago.  One Sunday in June it will be 79 years ago I caught my first Muskie.  Boy what a ride.  81 years of fishing the same lake how lucky can a Guy get.  Good fishing all.  Bob

The late George Richey and I were fishing about 10 years ago and George tore the Small Mouth up in Lake St Clair with a 3/4 ounce Red Crawdad Bill Lewis Rattle Trap.  I have used it over the years since and they still work.  Notice I said #/4 ounch.  Put one that size in the box and try it and let me know how you do.  Good Fishinhg   Bob

Hope you can as it is a blast to be able to fish at this age.  The Bass on St Clair are getting bigger every year.  I would like to catch the biggesr Largemouth in the lake.  I think it might scare you.  I think there are bigger Bass in here than most people believe.
Lets see, I quit Drinking 100 proof in 1956 and Smoking in 1976.  Had 4 Stents put in my hearti 2006 and I still plan on fishing the lake for 100 years and this is number 81.  Starting on my fifth generation of fishing.  LOL

YOu got me beat just a little bit muskiebobsr: I am 79 and have fished sense I was 7 so thats 72 years of fishing. We are close enough in age I can relate to what you are saying; Mine was a tripple bypass that didn’t turn out to well among a few other things. I don’t smoke or drink either.
Wishing you contiued good luck with fishing; I hope we both can fish when we are 100.
