I love sporting clays but don’t get out much.  I shoot at the Island Lake State Park in Brighton.  Not sure if that is the real name.  They have a pretty challenging course plus they have 2 trap stations,  a 5 position station and some other stuff too.  I hope to get out some more this year don’t know but hope to.

Love shooting skeet. We do it on a friends farm though we’ve got all our own traps and what not.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.  Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I use to shoot, there was a place in the country in my little hick town. I shot in several leagues never was that great had I beleive a +10 or 15 handicap. But several years back the guy retired he sold his stuff to one of the shooters which opened a place up about a hour away. It wasnt the same, plus he used his teenage daughters as trappers and the club house was about 20 minutes away from the course. I think this alone is what killed the place. I dont think the shooters liked the idea of being on the course with a teenage girl, especially that far from the club house. There is a few others around I try to hit at least once a year but to far to shoot leagues. Sure was a blast though, my highest score ever was a 82. I meantion that because I was using a 28ga, and out shot the group I was with, everyone else was using a 12.

Triton, Im not knocking what you guys do one bit. We do it to at my cousins a few times a year. But if you want a real challenge go out on a course. I wont say Trap or Skeet are easier, but take the walk around a 10-12 station sporting clays range. And see how you scores vary from what you shoot with your buddys. Ive taken several of my shooting buddys in the past. And everyone one of them would drop no less than 15 birds off what they normal would shoot, or even expect to shoot. Actually one guy I took was a co-worker and one of our boss’s shot in a league I shot in. I told him I was taking him and the co-worker swore up and down he’d bust no less than 85 out of 100. They put a wager on it, I took his score card to the boss that following monday, and tuesday my co-worker had to order him a large pizza for lunch….lol Diffently a diffrent ball game, you have to try it once.
