If fish aren’t on the docks, summer is spelled FRUSTRATION for me. I feel really confident working in, around, and under docks, pontoons, and other shoreline structure—and that often produces fish—but, if that game-plan fails, I’m left cringing at the idea of working deep water.
Here’s the deal: when I’ve practiced out deep (10-20 feet), I’ve caught almost nothing on anything but crankbaits (even those are pretty unproductive for me during the “dog days”). The slow, plastic stuff (jigs, etc.) is constantly bogged down in vegetation—weedless or not.
My confidence level is zero. Apparently, I need tutoring…
