As I get older, my vision is getting worse.  I have been using the same model Gamakatsu worm hooks for years now and absolutely love them.

However, I am having problems tying my favorite knot (palomar) because of the slight crack in the hook eyelet.

I need to find a hook where the eyelet is perfectly round with no cracks.  Does such a hook exist?

p.s.  I have a lot of confidence in the palomar knot and don’t want to change to an easier knot.

Please advise!  Thanks

You can use a pair of regular pliers (not needlenose) and bend the eye so it shuts. I had some that were chemically hardened that had open eyes, I had to put them in a vise to close the eyes.

Gamakatsu makes an EWG hook with a solid ring I want to say they are in the Super Line series.

I also use Owner hooks. They are great hooks, I really never payed any attention to the eye becouse I don’t alway’s tie a palomar knot especially when I’m fishing deep. But yes Owner is a great hook.
