Don’t have a boat, but I take 3 casters & a spinning rig with me to fish the ponds around here. When I get one of the new Revo Premiers & a frog rod to go along with a good ML spinning set up, I’ll most likely throw 6 in the Explorer to hit the ponds. If/when I ever get a boat, I don’t think I’ll go much beyond 7 or 8 rigs with the majority being casters.
For when I fish tournys as a non boater I usually bring 4 or 5. They are either 3 or 4 baitcasting and 1 spinning. When I go to ponds I bring 3 rods, 2 baitcasting and1 spinning. When I bike down to my local lake on bring with me 2 baitcasting reels. When I go on vacation I bring 7 rods, 1 spinning, 5 baitcasters, and1 fly rod for panfish.
Yeah, Mine has changed a bit too, I don’t use spinning anymore. I just stick with baitcasters, and I only carry 3. one for spinnerbait, one for frogs, and one for cranks.
Well since I don’t own a boat, when I walk to the ponds, I bring one baitcaster and one spinning rod. When I go up to my uncles house and fish on his boat, I bring 4 baitcasters and a spinning
I normally carry as many as 15 rods. This year I took time off from tournament fishing to learn some new things and try new things and areas so I’ve only been taking 5-7 and only the rods that pretain to what I want to try. One of the new techniques I really wanted to learn was heavy punching jigs so when I go out I only take the 5 rods rigged for that tech. some have braid and some have heavy flouro 20-25 lb test and 50-65 lb test braid and what ever baits I need from 3/4 upto 1 1/4 oz jigs and some with texas rigged plastic baits with 3/4 upto 1 1/2 oz tungsten weights. So I taylor the amount rods for what I want to do.
Got 16 casters and 2 spinning in the box, its packed. But usually only end up with 8 on the deck. My wife is my partner most of the time so I have to pack her stuff too.
