Alton is one of those guys I was glad to see win the Classic. He can flat out fish but he isnt flashy or bring much attention to himself. Thats prolly why a lot of guys overlook him. The good thing about Alton is what he does off the lake. He is involved with the youth and church a lot and that seems to be priority over face-time or products. Since the Classic he has become Kistler Rods front man and has his own signature line. He is also one of the main guys for Skeeter/Yamaha and YUM!

I cant wait to see those new Skeeter/Yam units that cost 70,000$+ out run some others out there..LOL.

I think people sometimes forget about the two jigs Alton has, and of course his Kistler rods..as Twitch says.  I spoke to him at the River Rumble and he has a lot of other things going on, as Twitch touched on briefly.  He is very successful in his fishing and I think that makes it a little easier to not have to be out promoting as some of the other guys do.  He is established in this industry and that alone speaks for itself.

I am pumped for the Classic…LOL…You going down Twitch?  I thought you were.

LOL…bad place to be with nice things.  I gotta get some money one of these days and go.  Always a good time I am sure.

I guess you might have a little drive for decent hotel…no big deal though.

I was looking at the Elite schedule and saw the California Delta.  I’ve read and seen movies about this fishery-should be cool to watch.  The Deroit River’s got KVD’s name all over it.

Detroit River is not on the Elite schedule, it is in the Northern Division of the Opens.

Yeah, JVD fishes the Northerns usually.  Not sure on how many he is doing this year.  If he fishes full schedule I could see him making a push toward qualifying for the 2011 Elites.  If not, look for him in 2012.

I see that now.  Wishful thinking I guess.  Boy, Detroit could sure use the event.  I guess any US town could use it.

Yea it would be cool to see them fish Detroit river or just this side of lake Erie instead of the New york side.

Do you guys think the woman in the Classic will fair any better than the one from last year?

Um, that “woman” has a name.  Pam Martin-Wells, from Bainbridge, Georgia.  And she is more qualified than 75% of the Classic field.  Isn’t Lay Lake part of the Coosa Chain?  Oh yea, didn’t she just win back to back events on the Coosa Chain….......2008 WBT Neely Henry and 2009 WBT Neely Henry?  Yup, she did.  I was there to witness both of them.

I would most definitely say that she will fare better than Kim did last year.  You have to keep in mind, Kim, while well know, is still a relative newcomer to the sport of bass tournament fishing….........especially in BASS.  Spent several years in FLW, where, in my opinion, the talent is lacking.

Pam, though, has been guiding on Seminole and tournament fishing for more years than she probably cares to recall.  Her resume is quite impressive.

well, I think she should fish and qualify with the others (men).  Like it was said in the interview last season at the Classic.  Fish dont know if your a man or a woman.  then fish the trails like the men have to.
