I spent some time at KVD’s Classic booth and checked out these new products. First off, the Spinnerbait Guide is great. I am new to spinnerbaits and I know this “cheat sheet” is going to come in handy. It breaks down both sky and water conditions, forage type, water temps, and depths. Once you have the conditions that are facing you lined up on the card it gives you which color, which blade combination, and what body profile (trimmed skirt, full skirt, extra bulk). It also has about a half dozen spinnerbait tips printed on it and is water proof. I know I will get some use out of this thing.
Also had the chance to check out the fish sticks. Afilius wasnt kidding when he said these things were strong. I had to triple bag them just to tone them down. I stopped by the FishSticks booth at the classic as well. The guys there put on a demo with these and I have no doubt that this scent is going to last a long time on your baits. They did a side-by-side comparison with three or four of the top scents and the FS outlasted the others by a land side. That was impressive enough to sell me a couple of them.
The last two KVD related items I checked out was the Shark Tooth and the SK series 6 XD cranks. The shark tooth is a good concept. Beats using rubberbands and also has a guide hole with a razor attached so you can clip your excess line and keep the tag end in place for next use. The series 6 cranks are sweet. Great colors available and they appear to be have a slimmer profile then the regular series 6 cranks.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh no afilius wasnt kidding i had my bagged 5 times and i could still smell that craw and garlic. made me hungry lol
