Redeye shad= The brake through bait of 2010.

Never seen a classic were at least 5 guys in the top 20 mentioned using a certain bait.

I will not disagree, but I feel the RES broke through last year. The local wal-mart here has stopped carring Rat-L-Traps and now only carry the RES and Super Spots. I think that alone speaks volumes of the growing popularity of the bait.

Yeah, I tell yah too, those little super spots can catch a bunch too.

And don’t get me started on the original Diamond shad.

I would say it broke thru back in 2008 when KVD won on Lake Kissimmee.

Red Eyes are the best lipless I’ve ever used, did really great last year on them and hoping to repeat this year.

I own 2 red eyes, although I havent thrown them much, I use rapala rattle traps which are great. I’ll have to throw some more red eye shads!

I agree Q-Man. I’ve been using it for a while now. Its my favorite lipless crank, because of its action. KVD has said it so many times,  bass react to the way that bait falls, and he proved it again at the 2010 classic.

Hope you catch your biggest bass ever on your next fishing trip.

These are my favorite lipless crank. It is the best lure I have found when you are fishing over grass. I will always have one of these tied on when I am going to a pond.

I’ve been using them since they came out,  can’t say enough about how they perform.  I would like to see a silent running version no rattles just the vibration the action of the bait would put off.  I think it would be killer in clear water where rattles might turn off any fish around.

Drill a hole in it and fill it with some super glue then patch the hole.  grin

I have 1 Red Eye and I’ve been highly disappointed by it.  But I know lots of people that swear by them.

I picked up 2 each of Bad to the Bone & Chrome Black Back in 1/2 & 3/4 sizes around the new year, can’t wait to try them out. Surprisingly, the Super Spots have been the best producers for me of the ones I’ve used & I’ve used some Clackin’ Raps too. I’m gonna put them all through their paces this spring, now that I have a bit of know-how & equipment to properly use them.

I hear that! XcaLibur has a one knocker version, its great, if sk make something with no rattles or a one knocker I would most certainly buy more.
