Yep this little seven pound 1 oz channel cat made me dive into the water and I completely got soaked from head to toe after he took off runnin with my pole. The dude won me 25 dollar gift card though in a Sportin Goods store Efingers in Bound Brook N.J. in their annual fishing contest for 2nd place largest catfish category. I asked about the first place catfish, and it werse a ten pound 6 oz. The winner werse 26 and a half foot long and mine werse 27 inches. I told the guy mine must of been on a diet

hey, welcome to the forums. this site is great and all of the guys are eager to help.  i catfish in the susquhanna river at night pretty often and have a pretty good story about catfishing.

the cats in the schyukill are big, but that’s not the main reason why I use a surf rod, I need it because there’s alot of rocks and what not and i need the leverage to cast out far with no effort and to get leverage on these cats to get the giant flatheads out from the bottom. If you want a great place to fish you want to fish in Conshohocken. Best part of the river in my opinion. If you ever come down to the river let me know! i can show you some great spots!
