Buzz and poppers I like 17lb mono.
Spinnerbaits, jerks, swimbaits, worms all get thrown on 14lb, 17lb if I’m fishing shallow.

I use 8/30 lb. spider wire on my 7 ft. for just about everything except if i am doing a lot of worming i use 20 lb. Floro.
Remember i am not in a boat and this works for me real well so in case there is any bank beaters here this will help you.

Poppers: Don’t really throw them.
Spinner: 8 lb fluoro
Buzz: Don’t throw
Jerk: 8lb Fluoro
Swim: 20 lb braid
Worms / Tubes: 14 lb braid

People will say this is all to light, but I have never lost a fish because line. My theory is use the lightest line and weight you can get away with.

KPD6373: Yes Sir, I cirtainly do remember when we used to use the lightest tackle possible.
It is refreshing to me to hear that.
We used to do slider fishing with 4 and 6 lb. test and the rods were 3 ft. and less. and all had tennessee handles on them and we would grind the bail off the reel and fish with no bail. Just place the line on the roller and the slightest tention would hold it on.
I can’t say I haven’t broken a line because i have but i was in rough structure and got to excited and wanted to horse him in too bad. lol.
Lightest bate, line, sinker, and a slider rod of about 3 ft. and never over a 4 in. worm preferably a slider worm made by Charlie Brewer. Reserch Charlie Brewer and Billy Westmoreland from Tennessee. You will get a real shock from todays fishing tackle. It was called do nothing fishing.

Nice Post jimfc3. That info seems to be a good guild line. I do like fluorocarbon for spinner baits instead of mono like the site suggested.
