I notice a lot of pros do not have any wires for a transducer on their trolling motor.  Are they using ones with built in transducers?  i read awhile back that the ones with built in transducers do not give the same clarity.

I think maybe most of those guys have theirs hidden…or they are not using trolling motor ducers.  I know plenty of guys that dont even have one mounted to the TM.  They have the link from the rear, and just read info off the front screen.

Side Imaging really doesnt work well at low TM speeds.  Best used at 4 -6 mph…and that is best with main motor, not TM.

The built in transducers aren’t as good. Most well staffed bass boat dealerships will want to install your electronics on your new boat to your exact specifications. You can also do this. This includes running the transducer wire externally with a hose clamp, sealant, and lots of electical tape to stabilize all of the zip ties. Anyone who wants an accurate sonar signal that is close to them will mount their transducer this way. Side imaging transducers are usually mounted somewhere other than the trolling motor.
