I make a great flipping bait that can be used for anything. it has the ribbed beaver style body with claws. When you drag it along the bottom it looks like a defending craw. I know you cant buy mine in the stores, but I’d look for something similar.

I used 3/8 from 3ft+. shallow water (0-3) I use 1/4 oz

I would have to say a tube would be most versatile for me. That’s the type plastic I flip the most and works well in a lot of different type cover. You can rig it several different ways depending on what your fishing. You can rig it weedless for flipping or fishing grass, you can rig it with an exposed hook for fishing around rock or sandy area’s and can also be fished deeper on a c-rig. Tackle companies make rattles that you can insert to make it even more appealing. The tube is also a great clear water bait…..hope this helps, good luck!

I would also a tube would be the most versatile,  you can flip/pitch it,  rig it with a jighead inside and drag like a worm or texas rig it and drag it like a worm, also rig weightless and fish it like a frog or even a jerkbait.  Another versatile plastic bait would be a Zoom brush hog, again you flip/pitch it, or drag it like a worm and you can also rig it on a shakey head fish like that.  Good luck and have fun.

I would also say the tube is the most versatile.

It is the only soft plastic bait that I have caught fish on while it was “swimming”; it can be t-rigged; Carolina rigged; fished weightless; fished on a dropshot; you can insert a rattle easily; you can use a internal jighead.

You have to try to fish a tube jig wrong.

I dont know about anyone else but my personal favorite is the finesse worm, you can shakey head it or throw it on a carolina rig, or even a texas rig flipping into heavy cover.

thats great but i like the 6 and 8 inch lizards for those applications as well. especially at this time of year, also dont forget the baby brush hogs they work well for all those applications as well.

Hey ive fished a few kinds of creature baits and tubes and ol monsters etc but only have 1 rod for them and am looking for one that can be used for flipping/pitching anything, working submerged hydrilla, rock shoals, wood, etc… best all-around choice…

Also, assuming 3/8 ounce weight will be good for depths ranging from 4-6 feet whether flipping laydowns stumps pads hydrilla or working bottom… got a senko set up weightless if need be..

Lake is clear if it helps

-ad, thanks

What lake are you on?
