I would say that it would be a tie between a tube and a beaver

I’d say a beaver. Main reason i say that is because you can pick up most plastics and put it on a c-rig, t-rig or whatever and throw them where ever you want. But a beaver also works good as a trailer on a jig.

I’m going to have to go with the beaver on this one.

I’m leaning toward beavers too.  They work great rigged weightless as well as c-rigged.  I use them a ton.

If you only use one rod for your plastics then you dont need to limit yourself to one type of bait. Almost every bait these guys have mentioned uses the same hook. If I was limited to one rod for texas rigging then I would have several different plastics lined up and switch out as needed. No need to retie, just switch baits and go. Most of these baits are going to be used with a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook.

being from florida i don’t really use a tube that much, some versatile baits in my opinion would be a senko, or a zoom u-vibe speed worm, a senko can be fished almost anyway possible, speed worm can be t-rigged and swam or dragged on the bottom, buzzed on top, flipped, or my personal favorite, put on a 1/32 weight in clear water and let it fall right next to the cover, then swim/ buzz it back to the boat
