my dad just picked up my birthday present from bass pro shops. my brand new KVD tour reel :D im putting it on a matching 7ft 10in tour kvd cranking rod. i got the reel in the 5.4:1 version and im wondering what the best line size is to put on it.  i have 17 lb test flurocarbon im planning on putting on it and im wondering if that was the best.  im going to mainly be fishing under 15 ft of water and with redeye shads alot for smallies. i think that i should go with a smaller lb test but not sure. any suggestions?

I’d do 14 if your fishing open water, 17 if weeds/stumps.

I would use either 12 or 14lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid. The breaking strenght of this line is amazing. The 12lb line breaks at 18lbs.

For deep cranking I wouldn’t go over 12 lb flouro.

12-15lb test if you just plan on using lipless with that line. Start throwing deep divers and stay with 10-12.
