I found a chug bug floating during a tournament a few years back and it’s been one of my best top water baits! but I can’t find new one in its color because it was a discontinued color so i’m leary of using it unless it in a tourney.

I think it is a bullfrog color. I’ve taken it to a bunch of different shops and nobody can find it. guess i will have to buy a couple and have then repainted to match.
Chug Bug (Perch) and night fishing is a 3’’ back Jitterbug. I modified this old girl with black rabbit strip fur. The spoons been bent from banging off rocks and bridges. A pair of pliers and a black Sharpie puts her back in service.
A top water bait that will always be one of my favorites is the Heddon Crazy Crawler. It’s the first top water bait I learned to use as a kid. The Crazy Crawler isn’t one of my go-to baits, but it’s a really fun lure to catch bass on.

I like how you modified the jitterbug with the tail, may have to do that with mine.
