The rosters are locked, and Im sure to be followed by 4 days of someone ripping ESPN for their “excellent” coverage of the event. Thought it might be kind of fun to list who start who. Could increase the trash talk over the next 4 days.

My Team:
A: Skeet Reese
A: Kelley Jordan
B: Gerald Swindle
B: Timmy Horton
C: John Murrary

I took a beating last week Im hoping to get a solid rebound. But it appears practice was tough, and no one was catching much of anything. KVD was quoted saying “It cant get any tougher than this”. But its suppose to be warming up fast I think we could see similar totals as we did from last week. Though day 1 and steady approvement on day 2-3-4.

i actually was going to take Velvick, and Kennedy, but avoided the standard swimbaiters there. Im betting it will be a flipping, finesse bite.

I researched the last 4 events held on Clear Lake and based my picks on the average finish of those events. Granted 2 of the 4 where Opens. I know you can never count out KVD but did you know his average finish in 2 events here is 53rd? Im well aware he has gotten alot better and alot more confindence in a swimbait but still. My team breaks down as:

Skeet: 2.2(4 events)
Jordan: 11(2 events)
G-Man: 10.5(2 events)
Horton: 9.5(2 events)
Murray: 15 (3 events)

I know conditions change and you never really can predict something like fishing. But I’ll take those averages and run any day.

Go Velvick! lol
He’ll let me down.

He’d still be in the lead if that 10-11 hawg was 4-5lbs lighter. Way to go Jared Linter he was my orginal choice for a “C” class but after his accident I was afraid of where his head would be. And heck he wasnt even sure how he was going to get a boat on Monday. Way to stick it to me for doubting him. To me the biggest surprise might be Rick Clunn I know he’s struggled of late but had a solid tournament last week and follows that up with a big goose egg on day 1, 16-1 out of the cut. I think if he misses the Classic next year he’ll announce his retirement. When you cant quailifiy for your claim to fame it just makes sense. Nice showing by the 19 year old youngster to, sitting in 15th place. And he has the perfect name to claim the ROY honor.
