i went fishing on the susquhanna river this past sunday and caught a 4lb 19in smallie. i was fishing where fast moving, muddy river water rushed past a warmer water, canal-like backwater. the main river water was 49 Degrees and i was 20 feet back in the backwater and it was 55 :D. I pitched a black and blue craw papi with a 1/4 oz bullet sinker into a patch of dead tubeular-like plants on the edge of the current seam. i turned to talk to my dad and i felt the tell tale tick-tick and set the hook. i dragged this bass from about 4 ft back in the bushes (actually over the top of them) and swung it into the boat.  that would probably be one of the coolest ways for me to catch a bass over the whole year and i turned out to be my first bite

That’s a great way to start out the season Live2fish95! I’m still waiting for warmer water temps in my neck of the woods.

yeah that must stink with it still being cold there. it was in teh 70’s last weekend and that was like 20 above average.  I guess our warmspell was a make-up for the blizzards we got this winter.  we got back to back storms with 15+ inches of snow and one i got 18in where i live. our winters are mostly like 5in of snow is alot so it was like a snow-pocalypse around here lol
