So I really want to try this bait out for slues or heavycover. What kind of hook should I use and weight?

Beau.

Straight shank hooks are idea for flipping plastics. HERE is a link for some hook choices. Make sure the hook has a solid “keeper” so the bait doesnt slide down on the hook-set. EWG style hooks work too. Size 3/0 or 4/0 and make sure its a strong hook. Your weight depends on the cover, but whatever you choose, I would peg it.

I love fishing the rodent. I use a 4/0 Mustad Flippin Hook and usually an unpegged 1/8 ounce weight.

I like to use a gama 3/0 skip gap and a pegged 1/4 or 1/2 oz tungsten weight
