I’m a die hard Quantum reel user but will use any rod out there, the only reason I like Quantum so much is because its the first reel I bought and learned on for the most part. The actual reel I was taught on was an old Daiwa black widow baitcaster a friend had but the first reel I bought and used was a Quantum can’t remember the model but I got it at a store called Grandpa’s in Clarksville, Tn when I was stationed at Ft. Campbell. I matched it up with a G Loomis G3 6’6” MH rod, I still have that rod but not the reel. So to this day all I buy is Quantum reels, I have bought others but usually end up getting rid of them and going back to Quantum.
