My favorite is a yamamoto swimbait watermelon red flakes 3.5, because to me the chatterbait always seem to attract the bigger fish.

Never used trailers on these although I’m now wondering how many fish I might be missing.

yesterday i took the skirt off of a chatterbait and put on a bomber hot pink twin tail grub. the chatterbait really was erratic coming through the water. it would dart side to side. i just did it to try it and it is something i will do again. didn’t fish very long because a wicked t-storm came through

i would throw one on there. just give it a shot. i really like using a bps triple ripple as a trailer, its not to heavy and it looks like the tail on a fish with crazy motion.

Split tail trailers are great on chatters.. what I prefer.. but grubs and craws will work too.. trailer hook when not in weeds.

I put on a RI skinny dipper. You have to trim the head down a little so it doesnt create lift and mess up the action. Ill also vertically rig a beaver-style bait to give it the profile of a bluegill.

I agree with the skinny dipper trailer… the beaver style bait rigged vertically sounds awesome. I might have to give that a shot. Thanks for the tip.
