Okay i was just wondering if anybody knows if the 8ft wright and mcgill rod would be good for punching. its either that or the tour elite hackney 7’11.. just thought maybe the wright and mcgill would be better because its a little cheaper and there are nice rods… PLEASE COMMENT

If money isnt the issue then its the Hackney for me. These tour rods are great for the price and Hackney designed this rod for his personal use…....and he is a flipping master.

There are some of the w&g rods at gander mountin on 27th if you want to check them out. They seem nice, for the price.

This would be my second option. These retailed for $250 from Quantum a couple years ago. Quantum has stopped production of these so the price has dropped.
I do not have this rod but have handled a few of them in tackle shops. For the money, its a good solid lightweight rod.
