Kevin’s first seminar was good, all about his classic win and crankbaits.  Says he has a whole box of just series 5 and another for 5XD and a box each of 6 and 6XD.  Then he has a box for each dedicated to silent runners.  Says he is now throwing silent crankbaits more than ones with rattles.  Interesting!!

Swim jigs were the topic of KVD’s second seminar.  He uses 1/4 & 3/8 oz swim jigs with a rage craw trailer and for deeper water, over 10 feet he likes 1/2 & 3/4 oz football jigs with a rage craw.  Shad colors and bluegill colors.  Be throws them on a 6’10” rod,  the same rod he uses for spinnerbaits and a high speed reel and braid.

This is going to sound stupid, but I missed most of KVD.  I was there early.  I’ve never been in there before and didn’t realize they had such a good selection.  I should of got a seat.  I got a lot of tackle instead.  I got some 1.5’s, RES, 1 knockers, kalin grubs, and more.  I looked at a Dobyns rod and he was super nice.  It was out of my price range, but has me thinking.  All the pros were very friendly.  Unfortunately, I wen’t on-call at 3:30 so I had to leave back for Lansing early.  Next year I won’t shop so much!  THE best bass angler in the world and I’m playing in the baits.red face

Twitch, you have to go at least once. I know have had the chance to meet a lot of Pro angers, but I really think you will like the whole D & R experiance.  Like Q-man said, I hope you are there next year.  Also, bassinjeff That autographed BassTimes from the classic is really cool!

* here are a couple pics that I took at D & R

Thank you Bassfish* I made the frame myself and am going to put a clear coat poly finish on it to protect the Signiture. I had like 5 people stop me on my way back out to the car with it probaly could have sold it pretty easy. Nope not for sale I told them it’s going on my wall lol.
