Had a tournament on Sunday. This was on the lake where my trolling motor took a dump on me last year, the year before I was with a guy who caught every dock in the lake, the year before that I did good on the lake. It seems like every time I fished there since my good trip, somthing bad has happened. This year I caught 7 short fish before my first keeper. A scrawny 14in fish. Then I got a nice hit on a chatterbait, the fish came up once, a nice solid 17+ in fish. He came up again and jumped off. In all the years fishing a chatterbait I never have lost one that was hooked good, this guy was he just came off. Then I had a good one on a tube that I skipped under a dock. This one was probally 16in, I think I have lost 1 other fish on a tube, this was number 2. I did have a limit by the end of the day, but 5 fish for 7.4 lbs isnt what I was looking for. I ended in 6th out of 12. I am really disappointed with myself for losing fish that would have put me up in the top 2. The winner had 11.3 and a dandy 3.5lb kicker. Oh well, next time I will have my revenge.
