Welcome to the site - a lot of good info flowing here.

I think it’s great you’re changing jobs and going for a career. When I was in the service I did security for 12yrs, I then switched to computers to prep me for life after the military - it has served me well. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Twitch…I live a little ways out of Richmond, In towards Oxford, Oh. Were about a half hour from the Ohio border. BornTooFish001, wow it sounds like your family knows what they’re doing. Like I said, in this economy, the medical field is really the only place to get job security and jobs that are readily available. I just hope I can do this. Learning how to insert catheters the other day was almost the end of it haha :/. But I’m gonna stick with it regardless. Good luck with the OT. It’s a great field as well that I also contemplated before nursing. Thanks again everybody.

Thanks everybody. Well believe it or not Nursing. I’ve worked tons of different jobs over the years but the medical field is really the only place you can find a job anywhere you go in a short amount of time. It’s definitely not what I really wanted to do, but closing in on 30 I had to start making some Career decisions, not just job decisions. It’s definitely tough and its pushing me to do things that I would have never thought I could do. I always thought I’d end up in construction, engineering, or something along those lines but there’s just no jobs in those fields in this economy. So I had to suck it up and do whats best for me and my family. We all do it at some point in our lives. Thanks again everybody, I definitely enjoy the conversations we have and everything that I’ve learned in the past couple weeks. It’s good to meet you all.

cool beans man. my sister is a nurse, my mom is a flebotomist, my oldest brother is currently going to school to be a doctor, and im interested in occupational therapy. so the medical field is definetly part of my family haha.

Well, I use a lot of different baits but I would have to say that rattle traps are my favorite. I like the 1/2 oz bleeding blue and chrome Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap with #2 red triple grips. I also love the strike-king red eye shad in almost any color. The cordell rattle traps are also in my box. I love the versatility in depth and how much water you can cover in a short period of time with the lipless crankbaits. At a local pond here I can cover probably 10 acres of water in less than an hour and that’s from the bank. If I had a boat I’m sure it could be more. What about you guys, what’s your favorite baits and colors?

Used to be a spinnerbait and chatterbait with a white and chartreuse skirt, but now i fell in love with frog fishing, my favorite is a Zoom Horny Toad in white or watermelon red flake. i have all 3 tied on at all times. Caught my 4 biggest fish on these 3 baits. Biggest with the frog is in the picture on my signature.

Wow what type of body of water were you fishing the frog with for that fish? That fish is beautiful.

Here in the chicago area, there are these forest preserves, some with ponds on them. this particular 1 is about 30 miles west of downtown chicago. this pond is about 12 acres. fishing from shore, i caught it under a tree, under green scum or algae bloom in 2 feet of water, 1 foot from shore on a horny toad. caught my biggest bass last november, over 9 lbs at the same pond on a double willow spinnerbait. yea, some huge fish in these ponds for this far north. thanks.
