That was a sad game to watch. I hate to break it to Bear superfans, but that wasn’t them being that good, but the Lions being that bad. If the Lions aren’t dumb & kick the ball to Hester or Stafford doesn’t throw those 2 bonehead pick 6s, that game comes down to the wire. I think the total lack of a running game is catching up with the Lions. You can have an all-star QB & WRs/TEs & eventually you’re gonna hit a wall if you can’t run the ball effectively & the Lions are bad, really bad at running it. They’re on the right track, but they need to get better on the o-line & need a consistent big back to compliment Best, because he’s not someone that should get more than 10-15 rushes a game.
The thuggery should be toned down too, but that seems to be what their coach wants, so, I’m not expecting that to change. They’ll lose their “loveable loser turned winner” status with too many more Stafford throwing a DB by the helmet after his mistake & all the other cheap shots that I’ve seen from them this year.
Edit: While on the subject of the Bears, I wish Martz & media people would quit comparing Forte to Faulk. There’s no comparison. Forte is an excellent back, but he’s not the game breaker Faulk was & while he’s a good receiving back, Marshall was a RB with WR skills. He might make some cuts similar to what Faulk could do, but Faulk was faster, quicker, pretty much betterer at everything, so just stop please. Thank you.
