Sup guys, i’m going to purchase this reel and set it up with the Shimano® Voltaeus® Spinning Rod for fineness what line line should i use for this and which one do you recommend? thank you guys really appreciative , anyone have this reel?
I have Shimano® Spirex® RG Rear Drag Spinning Reels sr2500rg with the Quick Fire trigger. It has some bad stuff about it. If the trigger breaks (it will) the levelwind will be out of balance. This will make it do a goofy wobble as you reel in. Next thing is you should always open and close the bail with your hand. This stops the line from twisting and getting messed up on the spool. Last thing is because its got the trigger it always goes back to the top so you can cast. You always have to keep your hand on the handle or it will “back up” on you and you could miss a fish.
For line I would say 8lb flourocarbon. Don’t buy a reel with a spool smaller than the 2500 reel. The line works better on a larger spool. It won’t “jump” off as bad.
So guys i tried out the spirex and had some adjustment problems, first fish wasnt a dink and didnt know i had him on till i saw him on. second bass was two pounds and had trouble reeling him in but got to land him, third fish was a big one and couldnt reel him in the handle was too hard to turn didnt know what to do but lost him

Hard to tell, could have been a monster….......then again it could have been a 2 pounder. Set your drag to the point where you can pull the line off the spool by hand. You dont want this to be too easy…........but dont make it where you have to put much effort into it either.
